Cat Mai

Cat is a multi-disciplinary artist, musician, theatre-maker, and lighting designer. Cat began studying music at the age of 7, training in AMEB classical piano for 9 years before adding vocals to their repertoire. They have performed as a singer in numerous musical productions at UNSW and are delighted to be collaborating again with Somnus Quintet.

Cat was the lighting designer for the inaugural JAM Fest 2023 founded by Somnus Quintet. They were nominated for Best Lighting Design of a Play or Musical in the 2023 BroadwayWorld Sydney Awards for their work on Rhomboid at KXT on Broadway. Most recently, Cat designed the lighting for The Strong Charmion presented at Flight Path Theatre.
